Interview For: Serge Guimond
I want to introduce everyone to Serge Guimond. I Worked with Serge about 2 years ago in Las Vegas. We shot for 2 days in Various parts of the desert for American Curves Magazine. Shooting in the desert for long hours is tough. The pictures look stunning but when you shoot you dont feel stunning. I personally was sweating my ass off and I think I had burned my cornias from trying to keep my eyes open long enough to get a shot. Each shooting day is usually about 8 or sometimes 10 hours. In the end its all worth the sweat and temporary vision loss :-) Because you get amazing pictures..especially with Serge! www.selectglamour.com
Q: How long have you been shooting?
Serge Guimond: I have now been shooting for 4 years! Still a pup! :)
Q: Where do you get some of your insperation for your photos?
Serge Guimond: I actually get my inspiration from what I "feel" is sexy and what "looks" sexy to the eyes! (Hmm ....having a hot looking model tends to inspire as well!)
Q: What makes a great model?
Serge Guimond: A great model is one who can become like an actress and "act out" passionate emotions and one who can express different moods & expressions when called upon for the shoot! A great model is one who knows about what sexy is, can portray it & deliver it with passion and sentiment. A lot of times it's either you GOT IT ...or you don't! There's not really a training manual on this!!
Q: What has been the worst part of shooting?
Serge Guimond: Dealing with different personalities and wide variety of characters can have an effect on you after a while. As a professional photographer, you have to have good social and interaction abilities.
Q: How does someone learn to be as good as you are?
Serge Guimond: Time, patience, training .....and "getting a good break", play a vital part into become a success in this business.
Q: What do you feel is your best photo to date?
Serge Guimond: One of my favorite photos to date ....is one that I shot in Las Vegas (PHOTO: Sand Dunes Girl), just because that I think that there is great balance from the exotic'ness, the sensuality, the composition and the sexual appeal that the photo brings in an instant moment! I have had tons of guys & GIRLS ....tell me that the photo is simply HOT & AMAZING!! (whenever you get that kind of feedback ....you know it's gotta be good!) Plus .....I could actually see that photo as a Poster in Wal-Mart!! :)
Q: Is there anyone who you would like to give credit to for helping you get started?
Serge Guimond: Too many people to thank here .....but a start would be a few helpful "senior" photographers that have showed me a trick or two, when I was starting out! Learn from the Pros ....and you will deliver like a Pro!
